The Purpose of LIFE groups at Mesa Baptist
Church is to provide small group settings that seek to encouragefoster relationships,
and provide opportunities for pastoral
care, nurturing, Bible study, and community and world outreach. Love
God, love one another, love those around us. Similar to the parable of the sower in
Mark 4, LIFE groups provide “good soil” to
help each participant grow in our Lord and multiply “thirty,
sixty, or even a hundred times.”
Four “Pillars” of LIFE groups at MBC:
Each LIFE group will provide the following
for each LIFE group participant....
- Relationships: Foster the development of
deeper relationships among LIFE group
participants. As we share aspects
of our daily lives, our dreams, and our spiritual and
physical needs, we open ourselves to others and get to
know others better. (Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12)
- Pastoral Care and Nurturing: Provide opportunities
for individual and corporate prayer,
care and ministry. (Hebrews 10: 19-25)
- Spiritual Truth: Provide opportunities to
study in a structured setting the
Bible and/or books focused on spiritual truths.
Every fall, our LIFE groups will
explore a common book of the Bible or theme.

- Outreach and Service: Provide opportunities
for outreach and service, whether
it be at the individual, community, regional
or world level (Matthew28: 19-20).

- Develop deeper relationships with fellow participants
- Study spiritual truths in greater depth
- Develop accountabilities (as desired by each individual)
- Share in prayer and support
- Develop and participate in outreach and service
events
- Encourage interested individuals to participate
and grow

| Q: Is each LIFE group the same or
unique?
A: By the very nature of small groups,
each LIFE group will manifest a unique
social dynamic depending on the composition
of that group (e.g., age groups,
stages of life, joint desired interests
and focus).
